Carved Bowls
Inspired by the incredible collection of magnolia trees in the San Francisco Botanical Garden, these large carved bowls depict some of my favorite large petaled blooms.
The bowls are first wheel thrown and dried to a soft leather hard. The flower design is then carved in relief, and the negative space cut away to leave only the final form.
